Lydia Smith is a life member of VFW Auxiliary to Charles Evering Post
#6505 in Rosedale, Maryland. She joined in 2018 under the eligibility
of her father, James F. Thomas, Jr., who served in the Army under General
George Patton during World War II. Lydia comes from a military family.
Her grandfather served in the Army in France during World War I. During
the Korean War, one of her uncles served in the Army, and one served in
the Marines, as well as her late husband, who served aboard the U.S.S.
Worcester. Two of her brothers served in the Army during the Vietnam era and two of her nephews served in the Army during the 1980's.

Lydia Smith has the honor of serving as 3rd Year Trustee this year
(2020) as well as Buddy Poppy/VFW National Home for Children Chairman. She volunteers
when needed with her daughter Sandi Fike who is also a life member.

Lydia is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother & Great-Great-Grandmother.
